Tools I build and use.

Alongside custom work, I develop my own tools. The open source ones are free and anyone can see how they are made; the paid ones say so on their label.

create-my-saas

The foundations for building a subscription web app.

The problem it solves

Before offering their idea, anyone building a subscription app has to solve the same things as everyone else: letting people sign up, log in and pay. This tool gets that part ready, so the time goes into what makes each idea special. What it creates is yours.

How to start

It is free. You need to know how to code to use it, and its guide explains the steps. If you do not code, tell me your idea and we will see how to make it happen.

What's new

  • When you bring a project up to date, it tells you what changes and which steps remain.
  • Apps built with it email whoever manages payments when a subscription is cancelled, reactivated or ends.

A command-line tool under the MIT license. It needs Node.js 20 or later and combines a backend (FastAPI, NestJS or Fastify) with a frontend (Next.js, React Router or Astro), with authentication, organizations and Stripe depending on the combination.

$ npx @lakbast/create-my-saas@latest my-saas --backend nestjs --frontend nextjsCreated ./my-saasNext: create-my-saas setup ./my-saas$ ls my-saasTHIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md  backend/  deployment/  frontend/
Real output from the tool, with the path shortened.

portable-context

So your AI assistant remembers the same things on all your computers.

The problem it solves

AI coding assistants forget what they learned when you change computer or tool. This tool keeps your notes in a private space you control and hands them to the assistant at the start of every session. There is no server of mine in between.

How to start

It is free. You install it once on each computer and, from then on, your notes load by themselves. Installing it takes some experience; the steps are just below.

What's new

  • It is now free and open source: anyone can use it and see how it is made.
For those who want to know more

It works with Claude Code and Codex, and keeps the context in a private Git repository of yours. MIT license. You need Node.js 20 or later, Git and an empty repository, whose URL you pass to pctx setup. It looks for known secrets before each commit and, if it finds one, nothing is saved.

$ git clone https://github.com/LAKBAST/portable-context.git "$HOME/.pctx/tool"$ npm install -g "$HOME/.pctx/tool"$ pctx setup https://github.com/<you>/context.git

create-my-saas Pro

Extra features for when your app grows.

The problem it solves

As an app gains customers, it needs things that are harder to build well: charging by usage, storing files, managing users from a dashboard or finding out about problems in time. Pro adds them as pieces on top of create-my-saas, and each project uses only the ones it needs.

How to start

It is not on sale yet. You can start today with the free version and write to me if you are interested.

For those who want to know more

Seven paid modules: API keys, background jobs, usage-based billing, file storage, observability, an admin console and commerce. Each module is an independent extension of the create-my-saas CLI.
